قال الشاعر الجاهلي الأعشى: «قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى وَلَا تُخِرْ صَلاَةً لِلْغَدِ تَصْلِى الْيَوْمَ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِى مَا يُكِنُّ الْغَدُ ».

The Jahili poet Al-A'sha once said: «Indeed, successful is the one who purifies himself, remembers the name of his Lord, and prays. And never delay today's prayer for tomorrow, for you do not know what tomorrow holds.»
